First Look: Nightmare on Elm Street Trailer Unveiled

Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: New Line, Horror, Remakes, Casting, Trailers,

Elm Street just got dangerous again. The re-made movie craze is still in full effect in Hollywood, because who wants to watch anything even remotely original? It’s much, much easier to just grab one of the dust-ridden scripts from the 80s and re-work it with a bunch of PR crap about how it’s all been re-packaged for a “new generation.” Because, apparently, the new generation has no idea how to get to the video rental store.

Anyway, here’s the trailer for the new Nightmare on Elm Street. It’s doubtful Johnny Depp will sign on to reprise his role and neither will Robert Englund. This time around, Freddy Krueger will be played by Oscar nominee (Little Children).

First Look: Trailer for Star-Studded Valentine’s Day

“Love is the only shocking act left on the planet.”

Throw a bunch of celebrities into a movie with interconnecting stories about romance and what do you get? Garry Marshall’s version of Love Actually.

In , Emma Roberts laughs at monogamy while her real-life aunt (Julia Roberts) laughs at Bradley Cooper’s admirers. Jessica Alba acts sad because she’s paired with a dog while the other Jessica (Biel) overacts because she’s paired with chocolates. Meanwhile, Ashton Kutcher is responsible for the flattest delivery in the whole trailer.

So am I planning to watch this American knockoff? Yes…because I’m a sucker for a love story. Valentine’s Day his theaters on February 12.

First Look: Clooney and Bridges Staring at Goats

Considering George Clooney‘s upcoming film, The Men Who Stare at Goats, centers around cloud-busting, flying, Jedi-trained psychic killers hired by the government, I’m shocked that I haven’t heard about this film sooner.

With Jeff Bridges, Ewan McGregor, Kevin Spacey, and J.K. Simmons rounding off the cast, I can’t say that I disagree with E! as they dub this movie the “Greatest Film Ever Made.” The goats drop when the eccentric comedy hits theaters November 6.

First Look: Trailer for The Descent: Part 2

In 2005’s The Descent, we learned two very important things about caves:

  1. They’re icky, dark and wet.
  2. They also house nasty humanoid creatures that like to feast on female spelunkers.

So why would anyone want to go in one…especially a cave where you know creatures exist? Well, it seems you can’t exactly just say your buds were killed—you have to prove it. (Because women are like crazy, you know?) That means another trip down for lone survivor Sarah (Shauna Macdonald) in The Descent: Part 2.

No US release date has yet been announced for the British sequel.

First Look: DiCaprio in Nolan’s Inception Thriller

While little has been spoken about Christopher Nolan‘s follow-up to The Dark Knight, the trailer makes it clear that he appears to have secured another summer blockbuster with Inception.

Set to hit theaters July 16, 2010, the sci-fi film stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Ellen Page, Marion Cotillard, Cillian Murphy, and Michael Caine.

Let’s hope for the sake of all our sanity that the film doesn’t meet the same fate as Leo’s other upcoming thriller.

“This is great.” Those are the only three words spoken in this clip for the upcoming release of Avatar. And based on the scenes in this brief trailer, it probably will be.

First Look: Ledger in The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus Trailer

Is it possible that a trailer can make you feel giddy yet sad all at the same time?

In this trailer for , we get to see Heath Ledger on the big screen for the final time. Although the project was put in limbo after the Oscar winner’s January 2008 death, the generosity of three fellow actors helped save the film.

Instead of scrapping the movie altogether, director Terry Gilliam (Brazil) recruited Johnny Depp, Jude Law and Colin Farrell for the adventure. The three men not only donated their time, they donated their fees to Matilda Ledger, Heath’s daughter.
